The final game of the CPL group stage features the St Lucia Zouks and the Jamaica Tallawahs with this game taking place on Sunday.
These two play on Saturday, and depending on how those results go, the Tallawahs could come here knowing that a win would take them above the Zouks.
For that to happen, the Tallawahs must win and the Zouks must lose on Saturday. That would leave just one point between them in the standings going into this clash.
Both have confirmed their semi final spots which takes the pressure off a little, but positions are still up for grabs.
Zouks Team News & Form
The Zouks have the chance to wrap things up and avoid finishing fourth on Saturday. However, if they don’t do that and the Tallawahs win on Saturday then this game will be a showdown for 3rd and 4th position.
The Zouks were expected to struggle a little this year but they have so far defied that.
This isn’t a team full of stars, or a team relying on one or two players to push them forward. Instead they are a group of players all working for each other and all contributing their little bit.
Quality may find them out in the end as we go into the semi finals, but the Zouks have been excellent and certainly above what was expected of them this season.
Tallawahs Team News & Form
The main goal for the Tallawahs this season was to qualify for the semi finals and they have done that. However, this weekend gives them a chance to move up and finish 3rd if things go their way.
We’ve not seen much of the Tallawahs recently, they will want to install some confidence back into the team when they get the chance. Their game on Thursday was affected by rain and on Tuesday they were beaten by the Trinbago Knight Riders.
This weekend for them is more about getting rolling again, finding some confidence and getting prepared for the semi finals rather than winning, though winning would be ideal on top of that.
Carlos Brathwaite has taken plenty of wickets for the Tallawahs so far, on pitches that have given help to the spin bowlers.
He is not a recognised top bowler, but has found form and a way to get wickets at exactly the right time to help his team. The Tallawahs will be hoping that continues and he is our tip for the key man in this one.
Don’t be surprised to see this game determine who finishes 3rd and 4th in the standings. The Zouks have been excellent but may come unstuck over the coming days and the Tallawahs are fancied to beat them on Sunday.
These two are preparing for semi final games next week, the Tallawahs certainly need that and they are going to get it along with a win from the game. Carlos Brathwaite has been impressing with the ball this season so far and he is picked to have an impact again. Check back on Tuesday to see the betfromindia tips for the semi-finals.
