The 2020 CPL is now at the semi final stage and four teams remain, all of which have two games between them and the trophy.
The semi finals take place on Tuesday and this is the first of those, with the Trinbago Knight Riders taking on the Jamaica Tallawahs.
Road to the Semi Finals
The Knight Riders have led the way through the entire group stage, they played 10 games and won them all to top the group in style. Those 10 wins involve two over the Tallawahs, which will no doubt give this team the confidence that they can make the final.
The Tallawahs finished 4th in the group, with three wins and one game that had no result due to the weather. You have to go back to the 29th August to find the last time this team won, and that could affect their confidence.
Knight Riders Team News & Form
The Knight Riders come here in fine form, and they rounded off the group stage with two convincing wins over the weekend. Fawad Ahmed took four wickets in their game on Saturday while Tion Webster, Darren Bravo and Kieron Pollard all played big parts with the bat.
In terms of the CPL, the Knight Riders have the full package. They are a talented team, with plenty of match winners amongst their ranks, while also having huge confidence given their dominance in the competition so far.
Tallawahs Team News & Form
The Tallawahs were beaten in both games this weekend, they would have loved a win to install some confidence back in their ranks, as it is now well over a week since they last recorded a victory. Jermaine Blackwood and Andre Russell were both excellent with the bat on Saturday while Glenn Phillips played well on Sunday.
The Tallawahs will once again be looking to these three players if they are going to come here and pull off a big shock to make the final.
Kieron Pollard is a proven match winner, he can come into the game towards the end of an innings and take the game away from the opposition.
We’ve seen him do it already this season and he is our tip to do it again on Tuesday. His big hitting in the last few overs can push the Knight Riders forward and help them win the game and that is exactly what we think will happen here.
Our betting tip for this game is that the Trinbago Knight Riders will win and make the final.
They come here on the back of 10 wins in a row, compared to the Tallawahs who have won just three of their last 10 and haven’t won now for well over one week.
The number of match winners in this Knight Riders team is the key, they have many players who can get them over the line. We are tipping Kieron Pollard to do it in this game, taking the Knight Riders through to the CPL final and hopefully giving you a winning bet.
