It’s time for the CPL final, the Trinbago Knight Riders will face the St Lucia Zouks on Thursday to determine who takes home the prestigious trophy.
This is a battle between the unbeaten Knight Riders, who have been foot perfect so far against the Zouks who have shocked us all with how well they have played, especially with the ball.
It promises to be a great game and a fantastic end to what has been a great competition for fans to watch.
Road to the Final
It is fair to say that both semi finals were poor contests, and both results ended in heavy one-sided victories.
We kicked off with the Knight Riders beating the Tallawahs. Jamaica managed to put just 107 on the board from 20 overs, something that the Knight Riders chased down with ease in 15 overs, losing just 1 wicket.
The Zouks steamrolled through the Guyana Amazon Warriors, bowling them out for just 55. They chased their target down in less than five overs to reach the final.
Knight Riders Team News & Form
Tion Webster and Lendl Simmons booked a place in the final for the Knight Riders with their batting. They both ended unbeaten, Simmons scored 54 while Webster scored 44.
This was on the back of an excellent and economical performance with the ball. Akeal Hosein took three wickets in his spell of four overs and conceded just 14 runs too.
Sunil Narine took one wicket, but was the most economical bowler conceding just 13 runs from four overs.
Zouks Team News & Form
It was an excellent bowling performance from the Zouks that got them over the line in the semi final.
Led by Mohammad Nabi, who took a wicket and went at just two runs per over, the Zouks were excellent. Roston Chase took two wickets while Mark Deyal only bowled one over but still managed two wickets.
The Zouks lack star names but they are playing for each other right now, and have been excellent with the ball throughout.
The Zouks will cause the Knight Riders problems with the ball and will take wickets, unlike what we saw in the semi finals.
That means those lower down the order will need to contribute, and few players are better at doing this than Kieron Pollard.
He’s played well in the tournament and can take centre stage in the final and be the key man. We are tipping Pollard to play a huge part in this final and score vital runs for his team. The only problem being that the betting sites also recognise Pollard’s brilliance, and he is priced up at a skinny 6.0 to be man of the match.
Our CPL final betting tip is for the Trinbago Knight Riders to win the game.
They come here on the back of 11 straight wins, one more will make it 12 and give them the trophy. The Zouks are respected but when you reach a big game, you need star players to step up and deliver, the Knight Riders are the team with these.
With that in mind, we are backing the Knight Riders to make it 2 wins in a row and win the 2020 CPL. You can usually get the best odds with 22BET and for this one they have the Knight Riders chalked up at 1.5 for the win.
